Corrosion Assessment and Repair

Building a Better Tomorrow, One Partnership at a Time

It is no secret that corrosion is a common issue that many structures face due to aging and can have an irreversible impact on buildings, but that’s why we are here. We firmly believe that it is time to unlearn the hassle of costly repairs, downtime, and safety hazards.

At Darat, we tackle corrosion-related challenges with deep knowledge of the latest innovations in the field, which leads us to introduce the Cathodic Protection Technique.

Cathodic Protection Design and Application

Upon completing the comprehensive corrosion assessment that we will carry out on your structure; we will examine and analyze the key findings to determine the harmed areas and identify potential opportunities for improvements. Subsequently, we will design and implement what is known as Cathodic Protection System.

Cathodic Protection is a scientifically proven technique to minimize and stop corrosion by controlling the flow of electrical current between metal surfaces. This can be achieved by connecting the metal that needs to be protected as a cathode to another metal more susceptible to corrosion as an anode. Because decay typically occurs at the anode terminal, the easily corroded metal will receive the damage to keep your structure from harm.

Cathodic Protection covers a variety of applications and can be implemented in a wide range of metal structures, including:

Pipelines

Cathodic Protection Systems are used in pipelines to prevent underground and underwater pipes from corrosion. This technique saves repair costs and extends your pipelines’ service life.

Storage Tanks

Whether your tanks store water, fuel, or chemicals, corrosion will be a major concern if not prevented, and that’s why we believe Cathodic Protection is optimal to minimize corrosion and prevent leaks along with the other damages that occur as a result.

Offshore Structures

Wind turbines and oil rigs are typical applications for Cathodic Protection due to the harsh marine environment and the tendency for these plants to corrode over time.

Reinforced Concrete Structures

Whether it is a building, bridge, road, or any other reinforced concrete structure, Cathodic Protection can save you the devastating impacts of corrosion by providing efficient solutions that are proactive, effective, and economically viable.
